Could You Benefit From Dream Interpretation Therapy Sessions?

What is Dream Interpretation Therapy?

A Dream Interpretation Therapist helps you by promoting positive life changes through dream interpretation and analysis.

Our dream therapy sessions are personal discussions using your own dreams as a way to help you gain awareness and insights into your own sub conscious. Dream interpretation can be very cathartic, in that you will often experience a great emotional release and many ‘ah ha' moments throughout the sessions as you work through repressed conflicts within yourself.

The process of dream interpretation therapy can help you identify and change the way you deal with conflicts, pain and distress. You will also have a better understanding of your own behaviours, beliefs and underlying subconscious wishes and fears.

What happens during a Dream Interpretation Therapy session?

In my one on one dream therapy sessions my clients learn:

  • What is preventing them from getting what they want from life.
  • Knowledge and information they need to turn their life around.
  • How to recognize what they really feel, want or need from their relationships with others.

During our one on one dream therapy sessions, you will learn how to recall more of your dreams from the moment you wake, a free flowing approach for how to write them down to get the maximum amount of information from them, and what the most important questions are to ask yourself for a successful dream interpretation.

During each session you will have the opportunity to discuss one or more of your dreams that you wish to analyze and have interpreted.

How often are Dream Interpretation Therapy sessions held?

There is no set amount of sessions that are required. Because dream interpretion is so personal and unique to each client, they can happen as often the client feels is necessary. As a recomendation, once a week to start is usually helpful.

Our online sessions are established using a variety of communication tools such as email, instant messaging and webcam.

Vanessa Jeakins - Dream Interpretation Therapist

My goal is change the way people look at dreams and make dream interpretation accessible to everyone. You don’t need to have studied Freud to understand your dreams and you don’t need to be a spiritual guru either. Dreams are available to every single person, to learn about themselves and ultimately to help them learn how to lead more fulfilling and happier lives.

The emphasis in my dream interpretation therapy sessions is on teaching my clients to learn how to work with their dreams on their own and use dream interpretation as a means of self-therapy throughout their lives.

The most important thing in dream interpretation therapy is to feel open and comfortable, as you realize new ways of seeing yourself and your life. If you can do this, you will learn to think with an intuitive mind and learn how to turn those valuable insights into positive self expression.

What Recurring Dreams Mean and How to Stop Them.

Recurring dreams can really bother us.

We feel frustrated by having the same dream scenario over and over. We wonder, does it mean something? How can I make them stop?

The first thing to remember when dealing with a recurring dream is that there IS something that your unconscious is trying to get across to you.

These recurring dreams are about turning your attention to something that you have been avoiding, either on purpose or because you are not aware of the problem or issue you are having. The key to stopping these reoccurring dreams is figuring out what that is.

Recurring dreams are generally about some type of ‘stress' event, such as constantly being late for something, missing an important exam or test, not having control over your own actions or other's actions, appearing naked in inappropriate places or constantly searching for someone or something.

  • Taking a look at your recurring dream and finding the common symbol or scenario is the first step. What theme keeps coming up in this dream? What emotions are commonly felt during these dreams and in these dream scenarios?
  • Look into situations or areas in your waking life which seem to mirror this type of scenario, issues or feelings. Do they remind you of some aspects of yourself or life that is stressful in some way or another?

Find out what the dream symbols in your recurring dreams mean in our online
Dream Dictionary to learn the meaning behind these dreams.

What do recurring dreams mean?

Perhaps your recurring dream is about constantly being chased by a monster. In your waking life, do you feeling constantly plagued by your fears? Could your life benefit from taking a little bit more of an aggressive stance on things? Do you just need to face up to reality and perhaps make some hard decisions and deal with something you tend to avoid thinking about?

There may have been an event when you were younger that had a major impact on your subconscious, such as being mocked or bullied on the playground or missing an important job opportunity etc. A recurring dream might involve those type of scenarios and get brought up (dreamt about) when you are also going through another type of event or issue that is giving you similar feelings to when you were young.

In that case, your recurring dreams are trying to get you to notice this, so that you can take action to change the outcome or to make the situation turn out positive. For example, maybe there is another opportunity you are about to miss in your life, but you aren't quite aware of it, or perhaps are being less than a proactive about it.

Your dreams are telling you to pay attention, because you may be about to miss an important opportunity again, that will leave you feeling miserable because of it. Don't do the same thing again! If you pay attention to your dream, then you can change the way you are reacting to this opportunity and maybe get to go down a brave new path in your life!

*Remember:

The mere act of thinking about these recurring themes or situations in your waking life that are similar to your reoccurring dreams can often have great impact in bringing your awareness to the forefront, learning from this knowledge, and usually stopping the recurring dreams altogether.

Through taking the time to learn about the common themes and symbols that show up in your recurring dreams, then analyzing them to see the parallel issues and themes in your waking life, you will automatically start to overcome and work through your issues, fears and insecurities and the recurring dreams will stop. If they do pop up again, you will know to look for those old worries and issues your life once again.

Just think of recurring dreams as really persistent teachers, who don't give up until you've learned
what you need to learn!
