Dreaming of someone who has passed on already as still alive or coming back to life someohow, can simply be a reflection of missing them and wishing you could bring them back.

Being deaf in a dream can indicate that you need to listen more and use your other senses to help guide you in a situation.
The saying 'Falling on deaf ears' indicates that someone is trying to communicate with another, but it is pointless, as they are not even listening.
Someone being deaf in your dream and not hearing what you are saying to them, can be a reminder of someone in your waking life, you are trying to reach out to, but they aren't giving you the time of day etc.
'Blind, deaf and dumb' - the loss of ability to take in and learn from your surroundings.
Being Deaf yourself in a dream can represent that you are refusing to listen to what is going on around.  Are others trying to tell you what to do, and you are trying to block their influences?
Maybe you are simply 'being deaf' to the music on the alarm clock that you really need to wake up too!
