What does a Clown mean in a dream?

Clowns in a dream can represent:
Clowns are about putting on an act - perhaps you are trying to disguise yourself or your intentions?
Are you afraid to be yourself and so hiding behind a 'mask' or putting on 'an act' to distract yourself and others from who you really are?
Clowns are traditionally either 'happy clowns' or 'sad clowns' and wear their 'faces' accordingly - is the clown in your dream a reflection of how you are feeling these days?
Clowns are frequently seen preforming silly acts and we often call people a 'clown' when they aren't acting very serious as in 'he's clowning around'.
A lot of people have a fear or phobia of clowns - is it perhaps because they fear someone pretending to be somethign they are not / or being taken advantage of by someone who is fake and insincere?
